WHAT WE DO

While invention is an essential element of any commercialization, it is certainly not the only element. In fact, there are countless number of institutions today across the world making new discoveries and inventions everyday. Many of these discoveries and inventions never lead to or become commercial products.

We work closely with a network of Offices of Technology and have access to a broader set of discoveries and inventions than any single company, focused on invention, by itself could ever make. Our current areas of interest are biotech, clean-tech, and novel materials.

We believe the key elements of end-to-end solutions to many of today’s unmet needs already exist. We integrate existing technical solutions with key enabling inventions to create extraordinary value.

Many of the inventions we buy require further development before their commercial viability can be assessed. We incubate the early developmental inventions within one of our spun-off startups or companies.

We clearly recognize the significance of execution. In fact, we have published two papers, arguing poor execution is the most significant factor leading to VC-backed startup failures and corporate innovation project failures. This realization is the first critical step; without it there would be no significant effort in perfecting it. Secondly, we know how to properly staff startups and projects. We have no secrets; we simply execute textbook knowledge very well.
